With Andrew moving to Nashville last week, Mulholland will be holding auditions to find a new guitarist. If you are interested or know someone who may be, contact us at mulholland.theband@gmail.com. And, this should go without saying: serious players only please.

Don’t miss it! Drew’s last show before he moves to Nashville.
We waited until we knew it was certain, and now we have confirmation. We regret to announce that Andrew and his family are moving to Nashville, and he will be leaving Mulholland on June 22nd.
The chemistry and guitar work between Andrew and Patrick has been a critical element in the development of our sound. Andrew is often the guiding light when it comes to structuring and fine-tuning our songs. And, as many of you know, he’s one of the most likeable guys you’ll ever meet, and a big part of our chemistry. He will be leaving big shoes to fill. He will be leaving us with some great memories.
Drew will continue to play and record with us until he leaves. So make sure to come out to the live shows and wish him off! We wish Drew and his family nothing but the best. Nashville will soon be benefiting from his many talents.
Mulholland will be auditioning talented and serious guitarists. If you or someone you know is interested in the gig, please contact us at mulholland.theband@gmail.com.

Hopefully everyone gets the message in time. We had to cancel tonight due to illness. We’ll see you all later this month.

Our good friend, Joey Barasch, put together this kick ass video for “The Panic” using video from several live performances. Check it out HERE. Enjoy!

We’re making our first appearance in Santa Barbara this Friday night, the 24th, at Whiskey Richard’s. If you live in the area or out in northern VC, come out and help us tear up SB. It’s a FREE show, 21 and over, and we go on around 10:30 PM. Also appearing: II Kings & Gargantua.
See you there. Spread the word!

This Friday we will be playing a show to benefit Aids Project Los Angeles (APLA). Every dollar raised is going to APLA. We will be playing two songs that go back to our first days rehearsing together and have never been played live- they were too heavy to make our set lists. It’s gonna be a night of loud music, cheap beer, raffles and free food. This is an underground show and the location is not being advertised, so be sure to check this event page and follow the instructions. We will be sharing the bill with Clepto, Tartar Control, No Victor, DMF, The Apathy Cycle, The Diablo Rojo Experience and Piss N’ Blood.
Keep an eye out for details on our other upcoming shows and we hope to see you Friday!

Next Friday we will be performing at the Guitar Merchant in Canoga Park. This is an All Ages show so, if you’re a fan under the age of 21, here’s your chance to catch us live on stage (not at one of our private studio parties). Click on the flyer for details.
We have a discount admission list for Monday night’s show at the Viper Room. To get on it: either RSVP on this FB event page and list the names of your guest(s) as a comment or send us an email with the names of you and your guest(s) using the link on our homepage.
See you Monday!

If you’re wondering why we’ve slowed up our live show pace, we’ve been spending a little time touching up some new songs and laying down pre-production recordings. A couple of these you’ve heard- if you’ve seen us live in the past few months-and others are brand new.
We’re really excited and think it’s our best stuff, to-date.
We will be picking up the pace and playing shows before the end of the year, so keep posted by “liking” us on Facebook, following us on Twitter or checking the website. Some samples of the new tracks are in the works and maybe we’ll even get some in-studio video clips up for ya.

Hey everyone,
We received some exciting news! We got an email the other day telling us that Indie Radio 104 LA had picked up The Panic and Bright Lights. Today we received word that the songs posted and are available for requests.
Head over to www.iradioLA.com and click on the request songs button. From there the artists are listed alphabetically. They limit you to one request per 2 hours. Let’s see if we can get ‘em in rotation!

We survived some minor technical difficulties last night and pulled out the win at the first round of Pacifico’s Battle of the Bands, hosted by Howl at the Moon. Thank you fans and friends for the turnout and your support. With two of these gigs under our belt in the past few weeks (Open Borders Art & Music Festival was the other) you think we’d be getting used to this. But the whole idea of a Battle of the Bands is still kind of strange to us. We don’t gear up to perform like we’re prepping for battle. The cool twist: winning tells us that what we’ve been creating is being well-received. And for that, I’d have to say we’re feeling a mix of excitement, humility and pride.
To the new friends we made last night: the pleasure was ours. Hope to see you again soon.
Next stop: Camarillo this Saturday. We were fortunate to land on VC Sound’s radar and are looking forward to sharing the stage w/ VC veterans, Spartacus. This will be the last show until mid to late August. During the first two weeks of August we’ll be doing a mix of pre-production recording and writing, while a couple of us head out of town. Yes, that means we’re already working on material for a follow up release to Pretend Away. And if you’ve been to some of the recent shows, then you’ve noticed we’ve been trying some of this material out on you.

I snapped this from the loft in our studio during a recent writing session. We’re basically writing continuously in between prep for our live shows. It’s an exciting process, because the sound is still evolving and being fine-tuned. Those of you who know us, personally, realize that each of us bring some pretty different influences to Mulholland. Our songs usually meet somewhere in the middle of these influences, which sometimes makes it difficult to answer the “who do you guys sound like?” question. For instance, we can listen back to songs off “Pretend Away” and cite certain influences over specific moments in each. But the end result isn’t as easy to pinpoint, and that’s the area of development that we get excited about.
We’re looking to have 10 new songs to pick from for a follow up EP to “Pretend Away.” Three are done, a fourth is near completion, and the beginnings are in place for a fifth and sixth. We’re shooting for late Fall to early Winter for a new release. Until then, we’ll keep playing more and more shows, we’ll keep creating new music, and we’ll keep testing ‘em out live for ya.
